Electrolysis hair removal involves placing a sterilised needle into the hair follicle and transmitting a small electrical current into the follicle. This electrical energy destroys the hair’s regenerative cells and the treated hair is then removed.

A series of electrolysis hair removal treatments over time is necessary to achieve permanent hair removal and results may vary from client to client depending on skin, hair texture and density of hair. Certain areas of the body are more sensitive than others, so some sensations associated with electrolysis can vary. The needle entering the skin is not felt but the current may cause minor discomfort. Most clients report a slightly tingly or warm sensation.

Able to be used anywhere on the body, electrolysis is most commonly used on the hairline, eyebrows, cheeks, upper lip, chin, neck, underarms, breasts, buttocks, back, bikini line and collar line, beards, tops of ears and nose for men. Electrolysis is also an effective method for treating skin tags.
